
WALDORF, Md. — A 41-year-old man was injured after a wrong way driver caused a head on crash Sunday night on Leonardtown Road in Waldorf.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 9:21 p.m. May 10, 2026, to the 3700 block of Leonardtown Road for a reported head on collision with entrapment.
One vehicle was reportedly traveling the wrong way on Route 5 when it collided head on with another vehicle near St. Charles Parkway.
Firefighters arriving on scene found one person trapped inside a heavily damaged vehicle and began rescue operations while EMS personnel evaluated those involved in the crash.
A 41-year-old man suffering injuries including neck pain and chest pain was transported by ambulance to Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities temporarily shut down both directions of Leonardtown Road while crews worked to free the trapped occupant and clear the roadway.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
