Two Women Walk Out Of Waldorf Old Navy With Over $1,600 In Clothing

WALDORF, Md. — Two women are facing felony charges in a Waldorf retail theft case after authorities say they stole more than $1,600 worth of clothing from an Old Navy store.

Paris Teresa Hooks, 22, of Washington, D.C., and Janae Moriah Black, 28, also of Washington, D.C., are each charged with theft between $1,500 and $25,000 in connection with the March 29, 2026, incident, according to court records.

Charging documents state the theft occurred at the Old Navy store on Festival Way in Waldorf, where store security observed the suspects selecting large quantities of merchandise before leaving without paying.

According to the report, the two women, along with another individual, filled a shopping cart with clothing items, including children’s outfits, jeans, shirts and shorts, before walking past registers and exiting the store.

Authorities said the stolen merchandise included multiple toddler and youth clothing items, with a combined total loss reported at approximately $1,660.

Investigators also noted both women were identified through law enforcement databases, and one had previously been linked to retail theft cases in other jurisdictions.

Court records show both suspects were issued a criminal summons on May 1, 2026, rather than being taken into custody.

A hearing is set for June 15, 2026, in Charles District Court.

Under Maryland law, theft between $1,500 and $25,000 is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
