The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal reports that carelessly discarded smoking materials caused a fire that resulted in $500 damage to the outside of a house on Louis Dale Road in California. The fire was discovered by the owner of the single-family, wood-frame house Aug. 29 at 3:30 p.m. No firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
“The fire was determined to be accidental from improperly discarded smoking materials from occupants of the previous day,” stated Dfm. Melissa Bean.
