PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Feb. 1, 2019 – The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation will host a free Lunar New Year event to celebrate the start of the Chinese lunar calendar, an important and largely celebrated holiday in East Asian countries. The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, from 3-5:30 p.m.

This free family-friendly event will be held at the North Beach Recreation Center located at 9021 Dayton Ave. in North Beach. Learn how to write in Chinese or create a culturally inspired masterpiece during a fun arts and crafts activity. Discover your Chinese zodiac sign and horoscope and pick a new year’s fortune.
