OXON HILL, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a now domestic-related murder that occurred in April. The suspect is 47-year-old Delvin Graham of Oxon Hill. He has been indicted for murdering his stepfather, 79-year-old James Venable of Oxon Hill. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner recently ruled his death a homicide.
On April 3, 2026, at approximately 4:25 pm, officers responded to the 1600 block of Fenwood Avenue in Oxon Hill for a report of a dispute. Upon arrival, officers located the decedent inside the residence, unresponsive and suffering from trauma. Venable was transported to a hospital for treatment, where he died on April 22, 2026. Graham was taken into custody at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were in a verbal dispute before the suspect assaulted the victim several times, causing him to lose consciousness.
Based on their preliminary investigation, PGPD’s Domestic Violence Unit charged Graham with assault and related offenses and was transported to the Department of Corrections, where he remains.
Homicide Unit detectives assumed the investigation following the victim’s death. After consulting the State’s Attorney’s Office, Graham was indicted on June 2, 2026, for common law murder and related offenses. He is being held on a no-bond status.
