On Oct. 4, at 1:14 a.m., St. Mary’s Sheriff Dfc. Sarah Russell responded to Old Village Road in Mechanicsville for the report of a domestic dispute.
Investigation revealed Kenneth L. Estep, 50 of no fixed address, and the victim were involved in a dispute over a cellular phone. The victim attempted to retrieve her phone from inside Estep’s vehicle at which time Estep struck the victim several times in the face with his fist and pushed her out of the vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault.
Estep fled the area and an application for statement of charges was completed and filed with the District Court Commissioner charging Estep with second-degree assault.
