The Charles County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at 3 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room of the Charles County Government Building on Bill 2005-11, the proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance for mini-warehouses. The proposed amendment would require a special exception for mini-warehouses in the Community Commercial (CC), Central Business (CB), Business Park (BP), Planned Employment Park (PEP), and Mixed Use (MX) zones, and propose additional minimum standards in the Community Commercial (CC) and Central Business (CB) zones to allow for a greater number of floors in the CC zone and higher floor area ratio in the CC and CB zones.

Citizens who wish to make oral or written comments on the proposals are encouraged to attend the public hearing. Those individuals or representatives of groups wishing to speak must sign in. Speaker sign up will begin ½ hour prior to the hearing and will end when the hearing begins. Each speaker will be allotted three minutes. The hearing will last no longer than two hours. The County Commissioners, however, reserve the right to extend the time frame allotted for the hearing. Written comments may be submitted in lieu of oral testimony, or to expand upon oral testimony.
