WALDORF, Md. Charles County Parks & Recreation is helping local families gear up for Halloween with its annual costume donation drive and giveaway, ensuring every child can dress up for the season’s festivities.

New and gently used costumes in all sizes are being collected through Thursday, Oct. 24, at drop-off locations including all county community centers and senior centers, Elite Gymnastics, North Point Indoor Pool, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and Scary Strokes. Costumes must be clean, intact, and free of toy weapons or other violent-themed props.

All donated costumes will be distributed at the Rec Xpress Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bensville Park in Waldorf. The free family festival will feature community vendors, food trucks, games, a DJ, safe trick-or-treating, face painting, a costume contest and more.
