La Plata, MD – The Richard R. Clark Senior Center (1210 Charles Street, La Plata) is hosting a Scam Jam event for senior citizens on Thursday, April 25 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. Presenters will provide important information to protect senior citizens from a variety of scams and frauds. Financial scams targeting seniors is considered “the crime of the 21st century.”
Presenters include representatives from the Charles County Sheriff’s Department, AARP, Maryland Insurance Administration, Maryland Department on Aging, Legal Aid, and the Charles County Department of Social Services.
