LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A Lexington Park man with an active warrant was arrested after deputies say he was found carrying suspected cocaine during a patrol encounter, according to court documents.

Corey Corniel Contee, 55, of Lexington Park, is facing misdemeanor drug charges following the May 2, 2026 incident.

According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy was patrolling the area of Saratoga Drive and North Essex Drive when Contee was observed walking. The deputy recognized him as having an active arrest warrant through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and confirmed the warrant before taking him into custody.

A search of Contee’s person allegedly revealed a brown paper fold in his jacket pocket containing a white rock-like substance. A further search uncovered another similar substance hidden in the liner of his hat, according to the report.

Investigators identified both substances as suspected cocaine, a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.

Contee is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records show he was released on an unsecured personal bond of $1,000 on May 3, 2026.

A hearing is set for June 30, 2026 in St. Mary’s District Court.

Under Maryland law, possession of a controlled dangerous substance carries a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine, while paraphernalia charges can carry fines of up to $500.
