LA PLATA, Md. — Charleys Cheesesteaks & Wings celebrated the grand opening of its newest location on Feb. 1, 2025, at the La Plata Village Shopping Center, located at 50 Drury Drive.
The franchise marked the occasion with “a day of delicious food, giveaways, and community support,” according to a statement on the Charleys Cheesesteaks & Wings Facebook page.
As part of the grand opening festivities, the restaurant donated 10% of its sales from the day to the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department. Additionally, the first 50 guests were entered into a drawing for a chance to win a 40-inch TV or a Charleys free food coupon.
Charleys Cheesesteaks & Wings, originally founded as Charley’s Steakery, began franchising in 1991 with the goal of sharing its signature Philly cheesesteaks. In 2002, the company rebranded as Charley’s Grilled Subs to highlight its “grilled-fresh-in-front-of-you” approach. Now known as Charleys Cheesesteaks, the franchise serves cheesesteaks, fries, and real-fruit lemonades, with select locations offering wings, fried appetizers, and frozen shakes.
“With Charley Catering you can also enjoy our cheesesteaks and wings in your home or office,” the company states on its website. “No matter the name, we’ve stayed committed to quality over the past 30 years.”
Charleys now operates over 700 locations across 46 U.S. states and 17 countries, with restaurants found in shopping centers, airports, strip malls, and on Army and Air Force bases worldwide.
