CAS Cheer & Dance will be sponsoring a team for those Athletes with Special Needs who desire to participate in All Star Cheer & Dance beginning with the 2010-2011 season.ย

The governing body for All Star Cheer and Dance defines Special Needs as athletes who have: Intellectual disability: 1. A condition characterized by impairment of skills and overall intelligence in areas such as cognition, language, and motor and social abilities as identified by an agency or professional, or 2. A cognitive delay, as determined by standardized measures such as intelligent quotient testing or other measures that are generally accepted within the professional community. ย

This is an excellent opportunity to encourage life and movement through a sensational, supportive, athlete centered sport. Special Needs Athletes benefit from their time together at practice and their work improving themselves. Not only do they stimulate their social and motor skills but the thrill of performance is a special memory to all of us.ย

CAS Cheer & Dance will hold its annual Open House on Saturday, April 10 at the CAS Gym located at 871 Keith Lane #1, in Owings, MD from 10 a.m. to Noon. The CAS Cheer & Dance teams will exhibition and their staff will be on-hand to answer any questions you may have regarding their program. Additional information may be found at their website at www.calvertallstars.com or by calling Ann Lucas at (410) 257-2431.
