At 1:42 a.m. April 5, numerous volunteer fire departments responded to a house fire on Catalina Drive, in Chesapeake Ranch Estates, Lusby.

The first arriving volunteer reported the house was fully involved in flames.

Before long trucks from Solomon’s, St Leonard, Bay District, Hollywood and Prince Frederick volunteer fire departments arrived to battle the blaze.

As crews prepared to make an interior attack on the flames, the chief in command advised the flames were coming through the roof of the home and ordered an exterior defensive attack.

After brining the fire under control, and conducting searches of the dwelling, units assisted with overhauling the structure. The house was a total loss.

Most units cleared the scene by 3:05 a.m.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
