At 7:52 p.m. Feb. 10, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the parking lot of the St. Charles Towne Center located at 11110 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery.
Charvonne Michelle Stephens, 18, of Waldorf, an employee of Cinnabon in the mall, initially reported she was robbed of the store’s deposit.
Sgt. D. Kelly arrived on the scene and determined shortly thereafter that Stephens had taken the money from the store and had given it to her friend, Erica Danielle Baker, 21, of Waldorf, as part of their conspiracy to steal the deposit.
Baker returned to the mall and the money was recovered.
Stephens and Baker were arrested and charged with theft valued at more than $500 and conspiracy to commit theft valued at more than $500. Stephens was also charged with giving a false statement.
