Washington, D.C. — Veteran journalist Cokie Roberts has died at 75 from complications of breast cancer.

ABC News president James Goldston said in, โ€œCokie Roberts will be dearly missed. Cokieโ€™s kindness, generosity, sharp intellect and thoughtful take on the big issues of the day made ABC a better place and all of us better journalists.โ€

Her former employer NPR said on Twitter, “Roberts helped shape the public broadcaster’s sound and culture at a time when few women held prominent roles in journalism.”
