The St. Mary’s County Commissioners have unveiled an emergency preparedness guide to help the county and its residents respond to a variety of unexpected emergencies – ranging from dangers related to nuclear power plants, to natural hazards, to terrorist threats. The guide also gives advice on how to prepare your home for an emergency and how to make a family disaster plan.

“We know that being prepared for emergencies can help save lives, reduce the impact an emergency has on our lives, and help us deal with the stress that can be generated during an emergency situation,” say St. Mary’s commissioners.

“We CARE about our residents and want to make sure that our Citizens Are Ready for an Emergency. That is why we have created this guide to help you prepare yourself and your loved ones in the event of an emergency. It provides useful information and resources for most emergency situations.”
