The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) recently began a three-year reconstruction of Chancellor’s Run Road (MD 237), in California.
This project will widen the existing two-lane road to a four-lane divided highway, and will feature safety and aesthetic improvements including designated turn lanes, sidewalks, intersections with audible pedestrian crossing indicators, and landscaping.
Construction is expected to occur in four phases, with sections of the new road to be constructed adjacent to the existing road. This will minimize traffic impacts and maximize safety for road crews, motorists and pedestrians.
Transportation to and from the Loffler Senior Center and Chancellor’s Run Regional Park should not be adversely impacted.
