LEONARDTOWN, Md. – On May 12, 2018, DFC David Lawrence responded to a report of a possibly stolen vehicle.
Lawrence with the assistance of several other officers, located the vehicle parked at the 22000 block of Park Drive in California and contacted Joseph Andrew Townsend, 26, of California who could not produce the vehicle’s rental agreement and none was found in the vehicle. The St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center confirmed the vehicle was stolen on April 4, 2018, reported to the Metro Washington Airport Authority. Townsend also had an active arrest warrant in Charles County.
Townsend was arrested, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with Theft: $1,500 – Under $25,000. CASE# 24938-18
