Visitors Center Happenings in August

Make the Visitors Center part of your August adventure! Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays during Dining Under the Stars, the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Visitors Center is your hub for discovering the best of the destination. Meet featured local businesses, enjoy special activations, and connect with a destination experience specialist for personalized recommendations on where to stay, dine, shop, and explore. Plus, the 24-hour outdoor information kiosk offers inspiration any time. On August 13 and 14, the Chesapeake Roving Ranger from the National Park Service will be on-site sharing stories about the history, ecology, and culture of the Chesapeake Bay. Beginning August 10 with a grand opening event at the Visitors Center, guests can contribute a canvas square to the Gallery 57’s America 250: This Is Now interactive quilt, a community art project that will become a collaborative quilt celebrating the people and places that make our region unique. While you’re here, be sure to participate in the Be Revolutionary: America250 Exploration Trail, which continues through the end of the year with newly added sites. Rotary Club of Annapolis Crab Feast – August 7

A beloved Annapolis summer tradition, the Rotary Club of Annapolis Crab Feast returns to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for an all-you-can-eat celebration of Maryland blue crabs. Known as the world’s largest crab feast, the event draws thousands of locals and visitors together for an evening of iconic Maryland fare, cold drinks, and community spirit, all while supporting local nonprofit organizations.

Nitro Circus at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium – August 23

Led by Annapolis resident and action sports icon Travis Pastrana, Nitro Circus brings its adrenaline-fueled spectacle to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on August 23. Fans can expect jaw-dropping freestyle motocross, BMX, and high-flying stunts from some of the world’s top riders in a thrilling hometown showcase that promises nonstop excitement for all ages.
