Cracked Windshield Leads to DUI for Driver and Drug Charges for Passenger

At 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, TFC W. Goldston stopped a vehicle for having a severely cracked windshield. 

TFC W. Goldston arrested the driver, Richard Walter Hawes, 19, for DUI.  TFC T. Quade then contacted the front seat passenger, a 17 year old female.  The female was asked to exit the vehicle so that a search incident to arrest could be conducted. 

The search revealed a plastic smoking device containing Marijuana and a small baggie of Marijuana in the girl’s purse.  She was arrested, taken to the State Police Barrack, charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and released to her mother.
