At 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, there was large crash at the intersection between Rt 4/St. Andrews Church Road and 235/Three Notch.
The accident involved a pick-up truck and a passenger car. The occupant of the pick up truck was the most critically injured and had to be removed from the truck with assistance from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department.
A helicopter was requested to transport one of the injured drivers, but they refused to be lifted and chose instead to take an ambulance to St. Mary’s County Hospital.
The accident resulted in a detour being set up by the police. Members of the fire department remained on the scene to assist with traffic due to the volume of traffic impeded by the accident.
The scene was cleared at 9:55 p.m.
