MARBURY, Md. — Fire and rescue crews responded Saturday afternoon to a sunken vessel and fuel leak at Sweden Point Marina, working to contain the spill and prevent environmental damage.

The Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 4:18 p.m. on Feb. 14, 2026, after reports of a boat that had partially submerged at the marina.

Engine 8-3, Water Rescue Unit 8, Airboat 8 and Chief 8A responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews confirmed the vessel had sunk at its slip and was leaking fuel into the surrounding water.

Personnel from Engine 8-3 assisted a Department of Emergency Services hazardous materials technician with deploying containment boom around the vessel to limit the spread of fuel and protect nearby docks and waterways.
