If you are looking for a way to give back to the community, learn about volunteer opportunities at the College of Southern Maryland’s second annual Community Involvement Fair on Feb. 8 at the La Plata Campus, BI-113.
The fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will include representatives from more than 20 non-profit organizations from the region who can share their current volunteer opportunities and other programs offered.
“This event is a great way to find out how your skills and spare time can really help the community. There is a volunteer opportunity that is a fit for almost everyone, no matter what their schedule, interests or skills,” said Anne Whisner, CSM coordinator service and volunteerism. Non-profit agencies will represent many community needs ranging from youth outreach and environmental concerns to community health and literacy.
The fair is free and open to the public. For information or for agencies wishing to register for the event, call Whisner at 301-934-7642 or 301-870-2309, Ext. 7642 for Charles County; 240-725-5499, Ext. 7642 for St. Mary’s County; or 443-550-6199, Ext. 7642 for Calvert County.
