Solomons, Md. – April 18, 2020 — The Maryland Municipal League (MML) representing 157 Maryland cities and towns and two special taxing districts, has presented Delegate Gerald “Jerry” Clark with its esteemed Friend of Municipal Government Award. The award recognizes Delegate Clark’s for his strong support of municipal government during the 2020 legislative session.

To be named an MML Friend of Municipal Government, the awardee has advocated publicly on behalf of Maryland’s municipalities in committee hearings, voting sessions and/or during General Assembly floor sessions. The recipient also regularly communicated with MML staff about legislation with municipal impact to ensure that municipal interests were protected.

Hancock, Executive Director of the Maryland Municipal League. “We cannot thank him enough for the actions taken to protect and benefit Maryland’s municipalities. MML is a nonpartisan association working to strengthen and support municipal government through advocacy and the development of effective leadership. This award program recognizes a select group of Maryland Senators and Delegates from various districts for their support.
