Simultaneously, detectives continued pursuing additional leads. In April, a Charles County Grand Jury issued a five-count indictment charging Myers with first-degree murder, two counts of handgun use/felony/violent crime, attempt robbery with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Myers, who was already in jail on an unrelated charge, was charged on June 28 and remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with no bond.
