Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies responded to a residence in Bushwood while acting on a tip that a wanted suspect was there.
Chad Cameron Gass, 32 of Bushwood, was wanted on several outstanding Grand Jury Indictments that were obtained by Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Vice Narcotics Division. He was facing several charges related to Felony Drug possession and failure to appear in the Circuit Court.
The suspect was allegedly staying in a camper behind a home on Pleasant Lane.
Once at the camper contact was made with Thomas Martin Johnson, 27 of Bushwood.
Deputies detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana from inside the camper and Gass was found inside. He was taken into custody and additional marijuana was located on his person.
A total of nearly 100 grams of marijuana, related smoking devices and a crack cocaine smoking device were recovered, police report.
Johnson was arrested as well and charged accordingly. Both face additional charges of pending a States Attorney’s Office review.
