On February 20 at 6:41 a.m., officers responded to the 3900 block of Watson Road in Brandywine for the report of a man armed with a gun.

Officer M. Hancock arrived on the scene and located the suspect standing on the front porch of a house yelling, cursing, and waving what appeared to be a black assault rifle. Officer Hancock ordered the suspect to drop the weapon but the suspect refused. An acquaintance of the suspect, who was standing nearby, grabbed the gun and wrestled it away.

The suspect, Marco Delaneo Madison, 39 of Upper Marlboro, was subsequently apprehended without further incident. A computer check revealed Madison had an open warrant. The rifle was an air rifle model AIR 17.

Madison was charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
