WALDORF, Md. — A Great Mills man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a Waldorf home and causing significant damage during the incident, according to court documents.
Elijah Miguel Miles, 25, of Great Mills, was arrested April 9, 2026, following a reported burglary in the 3800 block of Kearneys Inn Place.
According to charging documents, the homeowner provided surveillance video showing Miles walking from a nearby wooded area before throwing a paving stone through a front window to gain entry into the residence.
Investigators say Miles then fled briefly before returning and climbing through the broken window into the home. The homeowner confronted him inside, prompting Miles to flee the residence again toward the wooded area.
Authorities reported that the thrown paving stone shattered the window, while additional damage occurred inside the home, including to a coffee table and couch. Total damage was estimated to exceed $1,000.
During the investigation, a family member contacted police and identified Miles as the suspect, providing video footage and assisting officers in recovering clothing believed to have been worn during the incident.
Miles was taken into custody and transported to the Charles County Detention Center.
He has been charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, and malicious destruction of property.
Miles is currently being held without bond following a bail review hearing before Judge Patrick J. Devine.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 8, 2026, in Charles County District Court.
