At 6 a.m. Feb. 9, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Fenwick Circle in Bryans Road for the report of a domestic assault and a suicidal subject.
Upon arrival, Officer R. Williams spoke with the victim of the assault, who told her where the subject was located. The officer saw the subject, a 23-year-old Accokeek man, through a broken bedroom window. He was bleeding and holding a piece of broken glass to his throat. He threatened to kill himself if officers came into the house.
Officer Williams began talking with the man and kept him calm while other officers responded to the scene and established a perimeter around the home. She eventually convinced him to put down the glass and come outside for the officers.
When he exited the residence, Officer Williams and Officer J. Johnson took him into custody.
Emergency medical services personnel treated him at the scene for minor cuts on his hands. He was transported to Civista Medical Center for an emergency evaluation.
Charges for the assault a pending.
