WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS

One idea to lift easier is to have someone else do it. Do you have a friend who you always help? Then itโ€™s payback time. Maybe thereโ€™s a buddy who owes you a favor for covering for him while he went to the game.

Get the project set up so it is ready to go when help arrives. Donโ€™t make someone helping you move do tedious stuff like moving smaller boxes to get to the couch. Have it cleared away so the task at hand, is in hand. Then they may say how easy it is and offer some more help. A little reverse psychology goes a long way. I knew my college degree would come in handy one day.

You also never know when your help may receive that mysterious call of imaginary distress, and leave you empty-handed. Get the most work done while you can. If the project is muy grande, then call your friends for a โ€œHelp-me-movesome-heavy-stuff-cookout party.โ€ Entice them with some food and drinks and make it fun. Invite a whole bunch of friends over and the job can be accomplished much quicker.

Your job is to make sure everyone is fed well and of course, that the project gets completed. Especially if you are serving beer with the dayโ€™s work. Itโ€™s a great way to work, socialize and reconnect with friends during your busy life schedule. If youโ€™ve got yourself some drinkers, limit the beverages or you project may not get done or your new deck might look more like a rhomboid.

If you are at work, have a co-worker help. There is no reason to go it alone. Maybe they can help you move the table and chairs into the conference room for the big meeting or event. If you need to get supplies, grab a colleague or stack them on a cart and distribute them safely.

Now Iโ€™m not advocating child labor, but, if you got โ€™em, use โ€™em. There is no reason a teenager canโ€™t help their parents around the house. Hey they live there too. What is this place a Holiday Inn? Get them off the couch and make them earn their stay. This will take some pressure off of you to do it all. If you want to grease the wheels and throw them some cash, then do so. Cash is always a great motivator. So are homemade treats.

Speaking of cash, if you have no friends or children, or they have an excuse that they need to re-lace their shoes in their closets, then you could call a professional. There are lots of companies that move and haul stuff. Do some research or ask neighbors and friends who they may have used. Find a reputable mover thatโ€™s right for you.
