At 5:37 p.m. on February 23, TFC Whipp attempted to stop a vehicle on St. Leonard Road, in St. Leonard, for a traffic violation. 

The vehicle sped up a driveway and the passenger exited the vehicle and took off running.  TFC Whipp exited his vehicle and gave chase.

Approximately ¼ mile away, the suspect was taken into custody. 

Incident to arrest, suspected oxycodone and cocaine were recovered from his person. 

Upon TFC Whipp’s arrival back at his vehicle with the suspect, the operator of the suspect vehicle had driven over the lawn, damaging plants and yard ornaments. 

Charged with resisting arrest, false statement, failing to obey a lawful/reasonable order, and possession of oxycodone, cocaine, and CDS paraphernalia was Darren Augustus Oliver, 28, of Lusby.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Oliver had an outstanding arrest warrant through the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for non-payment of child support. 

Charged with malicious destruction of property was Adriane Michealla Slowik, 20, of St. Leonard. 

After processing, the two were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
