At 11: 23 p.m. on Sunday April 8, a vehicle ran a stop sign and drove into a trailer located at 46133 Pleasant Drive.

An initial call for help went out as a crash with property destruction, but responders found a female passenger heavily trapped inside the vehicle, which was now beneath the deck and the trailer, as far as the rear seat on the passenger side of the car, according to Chief Johnson of Bay District Volunteer Fire Department.

The crews cut the deck from the car and cut a hole in the floor of the trailer to access the trapped passenger.

While teams worked to free the trapped woman the owner of the trailer had to be told numerous times to stay back, as he watched his home being cut into pieces. The boyfriend of the trapped passenger also arrived on the scene and had to be restrained by police.

The complete extrication of the trapped victim took just under 30 minutes. Once free the woman was transported to PG Shock Trauma by helicopter, which landed at Great Mills High School.

Witnesses told The Bay Net the driver to very disorientated and “out of it.” She was arrested for DUI at the scene.

A police report on this incident is still pending. The Bay Net will bring you further information as it becomes available.
