On May 10, at 5:34 a.m., Tpr. N. Gresko responded to the 17000 block of 2nd Street in Tall Timbers for the reported disturbance.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 26 of Tall Timbers. She advised she was assaulted by Ernest Lee Smalley, Jr., 26 of Tall Timbers. As Tpr. Gresko was leaving the residence, he observed Smalley operating a green Ford Thunderbird and a traffic stop was initiated on Piney Point Road at St. Georges Park Road.
Contact was made with Smalley and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. He was arrested for DUI and subsequently charged with second-degree assault. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
