At 1:58 a.m. on June 24,ย a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Rt. 301 in the area of St. Patrickโs Drive was stopped for the tag being covered.
Upon contact with the driver, Lester McDonald, 35 years, of Waldorf, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. McDonald failed field sobriety test and was arrested.
A search incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was subsequently charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McDonald was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
