Leonardtown, MD –ย The gray skies couldnโ€™t cloud the spirits of the many children who attended the 33rd annual St. Maryโ€™s County Easter Egg Festival Saturday, March 19. The four-hour event was held at the St. Maryโ€™s County Fairgrounds.

The festival, which is organized by St. Maryโ€™s County Recreation and Parks Department, was highlighted by 13 separate egg hunts. The hunts were held at the fairgroundsโ€™ show rings. Among the other activities were a St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office K9 demonstration, kids fitness demonstration, performances by belly dancers, the Foundation 4 Heroes, the Egg Contest, arts and crafts, face-painting, USTA tennis demonstration, a silent sports auction, a raffle plus photos with the Easter Bunny. SO MD BMX had its Balance Bike Track set up and in operation during the entire event.
Several food vendors were on-site to feed the hordes of hunters and other attendees.

Over 25 local businesses sponsored the event and nearly 30 local businesses and services participated as vendors.
