Annapolis, MD — If you’re curious about electric cars and how they can benefit the environment as well as your wallet, you’ll want to attend the  7th Annual Annapolis Electric Vehicle Showcase. You’ll meet people who actually own them and you’ll even have the chance to take a ride in one.

The event will take place at City Dock (Susan Campbell Park) on Saturday, September 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The host of the event, Annapolis Green,  said the event is part of “National Drive Electric Week (Sept. 14-22),” a nationwide celebration to increase awareness of the availability of plug-in vehicles including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. Individual car owners, dealership and manufacturers will be represented.

You’ll be able to get an up close and personal look at vehicles on display, but what makes this event different is that most of the vehicles have been brought by their owners. You’ll be able to hear from the people who actually drive the vehicles.

The event will also include mini-seminars on topics such as:

  • Drive Electric 101
  • Driving Electric’s Effect on Greenhouse Gases & Climate Change
  • You Can Take a Long Road Trip in an EV
  • EV Charging 101
  • Government Incentives & Rates
  • How Home Charging Affects Your Electric Bill
