California Man Accused Of Exposing Himself, Touching Woman At Lexington Park Dollar Tree

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A California, Maryland man is facing assault, indecent exposure and fourth-degree sex offense charges after authorities allege he exposed himself and touched a woman inside a Dollar Tree in Lexington Park.

Carson Therman Gray, 26, was charged by criminal summons in connection with an alleged March 10 incident at the Dollar Tree on South Shangri-La Drive.

According to charging documents, Maryland State Police responded after a woman reported that an unknown man had followed her through the store and touched her while exposing himself.

The woman told investigators she was shopping in the personal care aisle when the man walked closely behind her, touched her buttocks and poked her with his exposed penis, according to the application for charges.

She told police the man apologized immediately afterward and then ran out the rear door of the store.

According to the charging documents, video showed the man following her into an aisle before moving close behind her while she looked at merchandise.

The trooper reported seeing the woman suddenly jump and quickly move away before the man left through the rear door.

Investigators then reviewed exterior surveillance footage and said the suspect was seen arriving in an older Jeep before entering the store.

Police later identified the vehicle as a 2006 Jeep Commander and connected it to Gray through registration records, prior traffic information and surveillance footage, according to the documents.

Gray is charged with second-degree assault, indecent exposure and fourth-degree sex offense involving sexual contact.

A criminal summons was issued Aug. 11.

A preliminary inquiry is set for Sept. 18 in St. Mary’s District Court.
