In his article โThe Stampede of Skeletonsโ which appeared on the front page of theย Commentaryย section ofย The Washington Timesย on January 10, 2014, Wesley Pruden discusses the impatience of Hillaryโs closet skeletons to โput on their dancing shoes for the 2016 Presidential campaign.โ He goes on to point out that: โThe attempted whitewash byย The New York Timesย of the hash she made of Benghazi only reminds everyone that she was asleep when the telephone rang atย 3 oโclockย in the morningโ.( And she wasnโt the only one who was asleep atย 3 a.m., as Iโve pointed out in this column before.) Mr. Pruden continues by saying that โGov. Christie might outlive the memory of a traffic jam, but surviving a stampede of skeletons will require luck as well as skill.โ And if Hillary is not able to, as Pruden says, โโฆmake the saleโฆ,โ weโll always have โ no! not Paris!, as Humphrey Bogart wistfully reminisced in the film Casablancaย โ but the Democratic partyโs โfallbackโ candidate, leading statesman Joe Biden.ย With apologies to Gov. Christie, we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
