In his article “The Stampede of Skeletons” which appeared on the front page of the Commentary section of The Washington Times on January 10, 2014, Wesley Pruden discusses the impatience of Hillary’s closet skeletons to “put on their dancing shoes for the 2016 Presidential campaign.” He goes on to point out that: ”The attempted whitewash by The New York Times of the hash she made of Benghazi only reminds everyone that she was asleep when the telephone rang at 3 o’clock in the morning”.( And she wasn’t the only one who was asleep at 3 a.m., as I’ve pointed out in this column before.) Mr. Pruden continues by saying that “Gov. Christie might outlive the memory of a traffic jam, but surviving a stampede of skeletons will require luck as well as skill.” And if Hillary is not able to, as Pruden says, “…make the sale…,” we’ll always have – no! not Paris!, as Humphrey Bogart wistfully reminisced in the film Casablanca – but the Democratic party’s “fallback” candidate, leading statesman Joe Biden. With apologies to Gov. Christie, we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
