St. Maryโs County joined with family members and friends of St. Maryโs County Commissioner Todd Morgan on Monday, December 17 to honor the life of his beloved wife, Maria Michelon Morgan, in a service at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Great Mills which paid a heartfelt tribute to her life.

The service was led by The Rev. Sherrill L. Page, Rector at Ascension, and the homily was given by the Rev. Rona Harding.

Several of Mariaโs friends eloquently addressed those who had gathered in the capacity-filled church and they included John McAllister, Lorraine Yanks, Bruce Davidson, Lynne Gross, LaDonne Liebler, Karen Swanson, as well as her husband, Todd.

Maria was born on May 2, 1965 and grew up in Miller Place, NY. She was seriously injured in a tragic automobile accident on July 7, 2011 and passed away on November 14, 2012 at Hospice House of St. Maryโs County in Callaway.

Maria had attended St. Maryโs College of Maryland, graduating in 1987 with a degree in mathematics.ย She received her Masters degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1991.

Out-going and dynamic, Maria was known for her love for her three children โ Lauren, Andrew, and Megan and was involved in all of their activities.ย She was a member of the Church of the Ascension where she was a layreader and a Sunday School teacher. She was renowned for her cooking and loved to walk with her dogs on the beach, collecting seaglass. She was employed by the US Navy, and through one of her many community endeavors she held the office of Vice-President of the Hospice House in Callaway. She was devoted to her husband of 22 years, Todd.
