It is with great sadness that EEP notes the passing of Kenny Dement. Mary Burke-Russell, Chair of the SMC RCC, extended condolences of heartfelt thoughts and prayers for the family of the former St. Maryโs County Commissioner.
Mr. Dement, 78, passed away on November 13, 2013 at the Hospice House of St. Maryโs in Callaway.
Dement served as a Republican during his two terms as county commissioner, from 2002 to 2010, and was part of many community endeavors. He was one of the founders of the SMC Softball Hall of Fame. He worked as a bus driver and instructor for the St. Maryโs County Public Schools.
A Life Celebration was held at Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown on Tuesday, November 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. (Prayers atย 7 p.m.). A Mass will be held onย Wednesday, November 20 at 10 a.m.ย at Holy Face Catholic Church, followed by services at Holy Face Cemetery.
