At 2:29 am, on Thursday, April 5, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a brown Honda Accord at Rt. 5 and Rt. 489 in Park Hall for an equipment violation.
Contact was made with the driver, Jerel Darnell Owens, 20, of Callaway and the passengers, Jawaan Montell Carroll, 22 of Mechanicsville and Trey Dominic Barnes, 20, of Lexington Park.
During the course of the traffic stop, an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A plastic baggie containing marijuana residue was located in the vehicle.
Mr. Owens, Mr. Carroll and Mr. Barnes were arrested for possession of marijuana.
They were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.
