Leonardtown, MD (Dec. 21, 2015) โ€“ Pay for much-needed health care or buy groceries for the family โ€“ it is a choice some individuals in our community make on a daily basis. For the past 25 years, Health Share of St. Maryโ€™s County, a local nonprofit organization, has been helping to make that choice a little easier.

To help raise funds for its mission, Health Share will hold its annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Olde Breton Inn in Leonardtown, Maryland. The Masquerade Ball is one of Health Shareโ€™s largest fundraisers of the year. Proceeds from the event help St. Maryโ€™s County residents who need assistance paying for medical services and medications.

This yearโ€™s Masquerade Ball will feature:

๏‚ท A Cajun, New Orleans-inspired dinner

๏‚ท Music and dancing with DJ Marc Shubrooks

๏‚ท Contests and prizes for those dressed in masks or costumes

๏‚ท The opportunity to purchase chances to win a five-day Bermuda cruise leaving from Baltimore,

Maryland.ย  Only 200 chances will be sold and the winner must be present to claim the prize. Sponsorship packages are still available. Tickets for the cocktail/black-tie affair are $125 per person and must be purchased by Feb. 15, 2016. For information, call Holly at 301-475-6010.

Health Share works in partnership with local physicians, MedStar St. Maryโ€™s Hospital, the St. Maryโ€™s County Health Department and St. Maryโ€™s County Department of Social Services. Participation and sponsorship of this event directly support our community members allowing them to receive the medical treatment they need without becoming impoverished.
