On Oct. 23, at approximately 7 a.m., John Richard Kolakowski, 50 of California, reported a 2001 Ford Windstar stolen from the parking lot of the Foxchase apartments on Foxchase Drive in California.
Foxchase apartments are equipped with video surveillance. Surveillance tapes were reviewed and show John Kolakowski driving his 2001 Ford Windstar from the Foxchase parking lot on Oct. 22, at approximately 11 p.m. and not returning.
When questioned further about the theft, Kolakowski admitted to lying about the motor vehicle theft.
Further investigation revealed Kolakowski was involved in a hit and run accident on Chancellor’s Run Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 23.
John Richard Kolakowski was arrested and charged with making a false report of a crime to a police officer.
