Waldorf, MD – At about 3:36 p.m., May 13 Volunteer Firefighters from Waldorf, Brandywine, Accokeek, Hughesville, Bryans Road, La Plata, and Baden Fire Departments responded to a house fire on Sandwich Court in Waldorf.
Upon arrival the 46 firefighters began working to control the flames, and did so in about 20 minutes.
A family member discovered the fire that originated in the garage of the home. The cause has been determined to be accidental and started due to an electrical malfunction at the electrical panel inside the garage.
No injuries were reported due to the fire. The occupants have been displaced and damage is estimated at a total of $150,000.
