ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On the morning of August 28, 2024, an ordinary drive through Anne Arundel County intersected with mobile danger when a road rage incident quickly expressed into a firearm threat.
The incident, officially documented in the Maryland State Police report, began after the victim made a lane merge. 22-year-old Jayden Kafree Spurlin, driving a black 2019 Audi RS5, began tailgating the driver on I-97, and did for several miles.
According to the police report, the victim attempted to distance himself by “brake-checking” Spurlin twice. In response, Spurlin allegedly made a hand gesture simulating a gun and flashed what appeared to be a gang-related sign. Court records indicate that tensions escalated as both vehicles continued onto MD Route 50. At that time, Spurlin pulled alongside the victim and pointed a semi-automatic handgun, still holstered, at the other driver.

The official documents reveal that the victim, who captured the incident on his dash camera, reported it to Maryland State Police the next day. He provided investigators with images from his dashcam. MSP used the victimโs dashcam footage as critical evidence in identifying the suspectโs vehicle and matching it to Spurlin.
Spurlin is now facing several charges as listed in the official documents: first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and a firearms violation. Under Maryland law, first-degree assault carries a penalty of up to 25 years in prison. Reckless endangerment and firearm charges could add to his sentence if convicted.

Too bad heโll get a slap on the wrist. Punish to the full extent. Heโs dangerous and dumb.
Except for the fact that no one goes to jail for anything anymore.
