A fatal accident occurred in La Plata at 1:36am on Sunday morning when 1993 Isuzu Trooper, driven by Eugene Kantner, 36, of Hazle Township, PA struck two other vehicles in the northbound lane on US-301. Kantner’s vehicle was driving southbound in the northbound lane.
Kantner was transported to Civista Medical Center in La Plata where he died as a result of his injuries, upon arrival. Randy Jarve Datcher, 34, of Nanjemoy and Shannelle Angela Marshall, 32, of Accokeek were traveling in a 2007 Toyota Corolla when Kantner’s SUV struck them head on. They were transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma.
Roosevelt Raines Jr, 40, of Chesterfield, VA was driving a tractor trailer. His tractor trailer was sideswiped but he received no injuries.
