Fatal Accident in Maryland

PASADENA, Md. — A 39-year-old Pasadena man has died from injuries sustained in a crash involving a motor scooter and passenger car Monday morning on Fort Smallwood Road.

Anne Arundel County police responded around 9:40 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, to the intersection of Fort Smallwood Road and Hilltop Road for a collision involving a motor scooter.

A preliminary investigation found a 2016 Mazda 6 was traveling south on Fort Smallwood Road when the driver attempted to turn left onto Hilltop Road.

At the same time, a 2026 Zhejiang motor scooter operated by Robert Louis Tuite, 39, of Pasadena, was traveling north on Fort Smallwood Road.

Police said the Mazda turned in front of the scooter, causing Tuite to strike the passenger side of the car.

Tuite was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Police announced that Tuite died from his injuries Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The Mazda was driven by a 17-year-old girl from Glen Burnie, who was not reported injured.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision.

No charges have been announced at this time.
