
CALIFORNIA, Md. — Emergency crews are responding to a serious crash involving a motorcycle and multiple vehicles on the Gov. Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge Tuesday evening.
The incident was dispatched at about 5:35 p.m. Aug. 25, with initial reports placing the crash just over the bridge on the St. Mary’s County side.
Dispatch information indicates three vehicles were involved, including a motorcycle carrying two people. Initial reports described a high-mechanism crash in which the motorcycle overturned following the collision.
Three people are known to be injured, both occupants of the motorcycle, and 1 occupant of the vehicle hit. The extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Fire, EMS and law enforcement personnel have been dispatched to the scene. Motorists traveling between St. Mary’s and Calvert counties should expect delays and use caution on the bridge while crews work the incident.
