
GREAT MILLS, Md. — Deputies with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kareem Tyree Harris, 22, of Lexington Park, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, in connection with a May shooting that left three men wounded near Chancellors Run Road and Pegg Road in Great Mills. Harris is the fifth suspect arrested in the case.
Patrol deputies in the area heard gunfire in the early morning hours of May 3 and found a vehicle with four male occupants. Three had gunshot wounds; the fourth was uninjured, according to the sheriff’s office.
After taking Harris into custody, deputies transported him to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where he was served with an arrest warrant on four counts each of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple handgun offenses, including use of a firearm in a violent crime. Harris remains jailed pending a bond review.
The case has led to several prior arrests. Investigators previously charged Cameron David Louis Curtis, 22, of Valley Lee; Peyton James Robert Curtis, 20, of Callaway; and Jayshawn Maurice Bartlett, 21, of Lexington Park. All remain held as they await trial.
