GREAT MILLS, Md. โ St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office detectives have made a third Great Mills shooting arrest. They took Jayshawn Maurice Bartlett, 21, of Lexington Park, into custody on Friday, August 1, 2025. Bartlett’s arrest is connected to a shooting on May 3, 2025, that left three people wounded.
Details of the May Shooting
The charges stem from an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of May 3, 2025. At that time, patrol deputies heard gunfire near Chancellors Run Road and Pegg Road and immediately responded. Upon arrival, they located a gray sedan with four male occupants. Three of the individuals had sustained gunshot wounds, while the fourth was uninjured.
Investigation and Additional Arrests
According to the Sheriff’s Office, an investigation determined the shooting resulted from an altercation that occurred the previous evening, on May 2. As a result, authorities arrested three other suspects on May 6, 2025: Trequan De’Andre Robinson, 21, of Great Mills; Kamech David-Louis Curtis, 22, of Valley Lee; and Jaylen Isme Robert Curtis, 20, of Callaway. All three remain incarcerated at the St. Maryโs County Detention and Rehabilitation Center while awaiting trial.
Subsequently, as the investigation continued, detectives identified Bartlett as another individual involved in the shooting. The warrant that led to the
Great Mills shooting arrest of Bartlett was then issued.
Charges Filed
Authorities transported Bartlett to the St. Maryโs County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where he was charged with 25 counts. The charges include:
- Four counts of attempted first-degree murder
- Four counts of attempted second-degree murder
- Four counts of first-degree assault
- Four counts of second-degree assault
- Firearm use in the commission of a violent crime
- Multiple handgun and firearm discharge offenses
